Sr. Manager, Annual Mtg. Education Programs

The Senior Manager for the ASCP Annual Meeting Educational Programs will work with volunteers and staff to lead all activities to facilitate the design, planning and implementation of the ASCP Annual Meeting education programs to address the identified and perceived needs of ASCP members. The Senior Manager will serve as the primary liaison within and outside the CPD division for the coordination of live and virtual educational programming for this live event. He/she will hold planning meetings for both volunteer and staff groups, set the master calendar of planning activities, set and maintain a meeting/program budget, and coordinate the overall design and content delivery of meeting education. The Senior Manager must have a proven track record of excellence in coordinating the design, development, and successful launch of live educational meetings associated with a large educational conference, working with staff across all internal departments as well as external vendors/consultants/partners that may need to be involved in the planning process. Overall, the Senior Manager, Annual Meeting Educational Programs is responsible for keeping the ASCP Annual Meeting fresh, innovative and relevant.

This position is at our downtown Chicago location, and reports to the Vice President for Continuing Professional Development.  No relocation assistance is available for this position, and local candidates are significantly preferred.

Primary Duties--

Coordinate the visioning, strategy development and implementation of the ASCP Annual Meeting educational program (CME, CMLE and non-credit designated educational activities).

Guide and support member volunteer planning groups in the strategic design and development of the ASCP Annual Meeting based on data obtained from different sources.

Direct the overall design, development, and production of all educational content related to the ASCP Annual Meeting. Support ASCP Annual Meeting virtual audiences by coordinating with ASCP educational technology staff to design online education appropriate to their needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

--Advanced degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Educational Meeting Management

(with experience in delivering the educational component for large conferences/meetings).

--Minimum of 5-6 years applicable experience in managing the educational aspect of annual conferences for healthcare professionals’ adult and continuing professional education.

--Substantial management experience dealing with diverse audiences and needs. Candidates must have prior experience managing employee groups while being responsible for multiple educational programs.

--Proven track record in design, development and launch of new educational strategies and/or innovative educational programming for annual conferences.

--Prior experience with online and/or computer-based educational program planning tools, processes and procedures related to efficient annual meeting implementation.

--Experience with the identification and adoption of technology to enhance educational programs.

--Strong skills in development and implementation of new, outcomes-driven CME/CMLE programs for presentation at Annual Meetings.

--Experience in managing volunteer committees highly beneficial.

--Proven organizational skills, strong oral and written communications skills

--CME/CE experience and association experience a plus.

--Ability to cultivate and sustain effective relationships with staff and volunteers.

--Basic fiscal experience with program budget management.

--Self-starter, with ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision. Computer literate.

--Qualified candidates must be able to travel on multiple occasions during the year, and be able to work on weekends
